Now in its 43rd season, the Cantabile Society was formed in 1981 for the purpose of
supporting the activities of the Cantabile Singers of Truro. In 2009, the society branched out and began the Cantabile Boys' Choir which encouraged many male youth singers in its 13 years before ceasing in December 2022. The Cantabile Society was also fortunate to have The Truro Youth Singers, established by Artistic Director Ann Legere, join the Society in 2018 until Ann's retirement in 2024. In the fall of 2024, a new children's choir was launched, the Cantabile Children's Choir under the leadership of Bette Pring.

The Cantabile Singers of Truro, the Society’s flagship program, provides eclectic concert programming for its audience in Truro and around the province, ranging from large scale classical works (i.e. Handel’s Messiah and Rutter’s Requiem) to a range of folk, popular, multinational, and contemporary styles. Succeeding previous directors Jeff Joudrey and Ross Thompson, Chris Bowman began working as Artistic Director of the Society in 2013.
We are always looking for new singers. Cantabile Singers rehearse Monday nights and the new Cantabile Children's Choir rehearses Tuesday afternoons. Send us an email, we'd love to have you!
